The year may be winding down, but we’re not slowing down just yet. Luminalia arrived last week, and the season of giving is officially underway. Spread some holiday cheer across the 'verse with new Luminalia courier missions, and don’t forget to stop by the Luminalia Calendar each day to claim your gifts.
As we put the finishing touches on Alpha 4.5, which we are aiming to launch later this week, we've also been thoroughly enjoying the reactions to something many of you weren't expecting. Early, experimental VR support is here and available on the current PTU! If you'd like to give it a go, Spectrum has everything you need to get started.
As a reminder, this is not our full VR launch. When that day arrives, we will make plenty of noise about it. What we've rolled out is an opportunity for some early hands-on time, very much in the spirit of Open Development, so you can jump in, see how things are shaping up, and help guide what comes next.
This is also your final call to take part in one of the filthiest and most iconic races in the 'verse. Sign-ups for the 2956 Daymar Rally are open until January 3, 2026, so rally your crew and lock in your spot.

This week, we’re rolling out Alpha 4.5: Dawn of Engineering, putting the next evolution of ship management directly into your hands. Alongside the release, a dedicated Engineering Gameplay Guide will be available to walk you through the new mechanics, roles, and systems, helping aspiring engineers get ready for the challenges ahead. We’ll also be wrapping up the Alpha 4.5 cycle with a Roadmap Update, including a small update to the Progress Tracker as we look toward what’s next.
A sincere thank you to everyone who jumped into Alpha 4.5 on the PTU and took the time to share feedback. Engineering is a foundational part of Star Citizen, and we’re committed to shaping it into something truly great.
